Executive MBA Admission Criteria

MBA admissions criteria are consistent with AACSB and the partner Schools’ postgraduate studies requirements. These criteria include:

  • Satisfactory performance on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) for certain applicants
  • Previous academic grade transcripts showing a grade point average of B or better in a completed baccalaureate or comparable degree program.
  • Successful performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is also acceptable.
  • Two supporting letters of recommendation from one’s employer or other professional references.

In practice, it is anticipated that admission to the program will be contingent on the following:

  1. completion of a baccalaureate degree with a grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale;
  2. a minimum of five years’ work experience;
  3. a current position of significant responsibility;
  4. two supporting letters of recommendation;
  5. an electronic-version TOEFL score of 213 or better for non-native speakers of English;
  6. a GMAT score of at least 520, for those who take the test.

The GMAT is not a blanket requirement for admission. Substantial work experience and/or prior graduate education may allow the GMAT to be waived. Nonetheless, the test is strongly recommended for program applicants, and a good score on the test will enhance any applicant’s chances for admission. The test may be required of applicants whose other credentials need strengthening. These decisions will be made by the program’s admissions office on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants who have previously taken the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Law School Admission Test (LSAT) may substitute the score on those tests for the GMAT, and individuals who have previously earned a post-baccalaureate degree will in general not be required to take the GMAT.
