Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics is that branch of economics that seeks to understand and explain inflation, unemployment, interest rates, foreign exchange rates, the balance of payments, and other related phenomena. Special emphasis is given in this course to analyzing financial markets where interest rates are determined. While international conditions also strongly influence the macroeconomic environment, you will take a separate course devoted to international trade and exchange rates and it will not be given attention in this course.
